The London-based producer Joe Thornalley goes by the moniker Vegyn, and despite his young age, he has already made a monumental mark on the music scene around the world. He first came to the public’s attention through his production work on R&B star Frank Ocean’s albums Blonde and Endless. He met Ocean at the U.K. club Plastic People, where he also met James Blake and passed him a USB of productions – Blake subsequently played them on BBC Radio 1.

Thornalley releases his music through his own label, PLZ Make It Ruins – including his debut album Only Diamonds Cut Diamonds, which featured guest appearances from JPEGMAFIA, Retro X and Freddie Gibbs. His signature productions contain a unique approach to beatmaking, including elements of dance music and hip hop, though not submitting himself to the trends of neither genre.
