Our bookers' recommendations
2025
by:Larm is just a few days away! Our booking team are always on the lookout for the hottest new sounds emerging across the world. Here are their top festival tips:
Henrik Posner (head of booking)
- Wold Wiggen (NO)
Redefining Norwegian ‘visemusikk’ with a fresh, contemporary edge. Also a part of the collective ‘Hersleb Visekollektiv’, who are shaping a new wave of Norwegian folk music, with a punk feel. - Malibu (FR)
A blanket of ambient soundscapes. Showcasing her new album at a blacked-out Blå. Not to be missed. - NEW YORK (EE/US)
Uncanny-coolness-defining-experimental-girl-pop-duo. For the likes of Smerz and Toxe. - DJ Narciso (PT)
Batida greatness, affiliated with the highly acclaimed Lisbon-label Príncipe. Certified body-mover. - Leonard Van Vuuren (NO)
Nice art-rock project from Leonard. Good blend of noise and melody, with tight production and a slight hint of baroque. - Camille Keller (BE)
Nice washed out leftfield pop music from the Belgium artist Camille Keller. Looking forward to his show at Hærverk. - Hans Kvist (NO) + Skitner Kroner (NO)
Two new great punk bands from Oslo. I saw them both for the first time at a party at Podium and was instantly convinced. - Svebbe (NO)
The Bandcamp-connoisseur is to be found at Blå on Thursday to serve you his latest picks.
Silje Larsen Borgan (booking consultant)
- 2J (NO)
If you get the chance to see 2J live, you should. An energy unlike anything else in this country, a magnetic presence, and lyrics that will make you blush - ELIA (NO)
My highlight at Trondheim Calling earlier this year! An act that simply makes you happy, check out the song “Love Me” before you come. Really excited to see where she’s at now. - Skitne Kroner (NO)
Young, uncompromising rascals from Oslo. They are absolutely not on TikTok.
Joakim Haugland (booking consultant)
- Purelink (US)
One of the biggest albums of the year in the world of electronic music. And also one of my favourite albums of the year. 3 piece live ambient/cosmic jams from Chicago. - Organ Donor (NO)
The best from Norway now, no doubt!! This is what by:Larm is all about. The youth doing it their own way, this is 100% DIY from a bunch of 17 year old kids from Stavanger playing house parties and doing everything the underground way - sounds like a mix of Sonic Youth, Dinosaur Jr and everything SST + Bailter Space, Urusei Yatsura. - DJ Narciso (PT)
We love Portugal’s Principe label/collective!! We’ve had many from the collective at by:Larm in the past and this year its time for DJ Narciso - check out his brand new album Capitulo Experimental that came out in July, one of the best albums of 2025! - Malibu (FR)
From their wonderful track on Pan Records' Mono No Aware compilation to their debutalbum for one of the best labels in the world today, Swedens Year0001. Atmospheric ambient, field-recordings and spoken-word
like a mix of KLF’s Chillout and Enya. - Niecy Blues (US)
From South Carolina - dreamy minimalist R&B released by the might Kranky. - Tristan Arp (US)
Tristan Arp from Miami third album A Pool, A Portal was well deserved hailed by many as one of the best albums of 2024. Oval/Microstoria, Jan Jelinek meets Edgar Froese’s Malaysian epic. - Clutter (SE)
From the Lover’s Skit main man this is 90s indie guitars as only the Swedes can do, this can easily be our new favourite band. - Dania (IQ/ES) + Eli Keszler (US)
Together with our friends at Ensemble and Dapper we present a new by:Larm venue, a space for contemplative/experimental/cosmic/freeform music inside Ensemble which this year will be defined by our favourites Dania and Eli Keszler. - Woesum (SE)
One of the best producers from the land of producers: Sweden! Woesum has collaboraded with Yung Lean, Bladee, Thaiboy Digital and he just released a wonderful mini-album called Protected and now ready for by:Larm. - The Sophs (US)
New signing on Rough Trade the label that gave us Strokes, Libertines, The Smiths, Robert Wyatt, Arthur Russell (the list goes on forever) - and when Rough Trade tip us about something, we listen, and we know: it will be special! Be there. - Nazar (NL)
Demilitarize came out end of April this year and is one of the best albums of 2025. On Hyperdub, distorted digital and abstract dub - Lord Spikeheart (KE)
I have a feeling that this is going to be the most talked about concert of by:Larm 25. - Svebbe (NO)
Svebbe is in my book Norway’s most interesting DJ with the best taste - Verraco (CO)
Verraco is one of the brains behind the super-inspiring TraTraTrax label in Columbia having released some of the best club music the last years. A wonderful cocktail of tribal techno and digital-psych with bent breaks and mutant bass. - gyrofield (NL)
gyrofield aka Kiana Li has an enormous production behind her already - she is one of the defining force in club music right now!
Sverre Aksel Eilertsen (booking consultant)
- Wold Wiggen (NO)
In my view, Wold Wiggen are two of the very finest within the rising, modern Norwegian folk-song tradition. Their debut album from last year is still on heavy rotation, and I’m excited to see where things might take them. - Pumpegris (NO)
Driving and sharp-eyed indie folk. Pumpegris feels like one of the freshest breaths from the new wave of Norwegian folk music. - Cockhouse (SE)
Playful, hard-kicking, and in a tradition we can’t help but enjoy at by:Larm. For fans of Tacobitch, among others. - Snuggle (DK)
Yet another brilliant project connected to Copenhagen-based Escho. “Woman Lake” is an unusually catchy track, and I can’t wait to finally experience Snuggle live. - Ellie O’Niell (IE)
Singer-songwriter music firmly rooted in tradition, while never feeling outdated. Ellie has a fantastic voice, and her songs are utterly captivating. - Oddny (NO)
A future household name, as we say in Norwegian. This incredibly likable crew is one you’ll be hearing on the radio and seeing on bigger and bigger stages for many years to come. - Diddi Velle (NO)
I honestly have no idea what to expect from Diddi Velle, but I have to say this might mark a tiny turning point for an otherwise very “cred-focused” industry festival :)
